To make the project even more fun, you can paint the feeders up in your favorite designs! I'm sure the squirrels will figure out this feeder sooner or later... but they'll leave it alone for a while. I guess looking down at the feeder from the branch, they can=t see the seed...and the thin wire doesn't give them much to grip onto. But if they discover a way and tear it up...you get the fun of making another one!
